    July 4th

Goin' up to Lake Texoma to my buddy's lake side (almost) place tomorrow. Buddies for 48 years.

Takin' the grandson and of course LOML (and her swim suit!).

Sit. Relax. Reminisce. Tell jokes. Drink a few beers. BBQ. Watch the fireworks from the middle of the lake (in a boat of course). Drink a few more beers (HE is the designated lake driver).

Hope y'all have a happy and fun and safe 4th too!

Have to drop my son off at the airport on the 4th. He was home on 10 days leave and has to return Ft Lewis then. It's been a great visit, it just seems like he arrived the other day. I took the entire 2 weeks as vacation and it was great.

I'm not sure I'll feel like celebrating later that day.

Thanks for the well-wishes and for rubbin' our noses in your good times - LOL!! Have a blast. Friendships like that are few and far between. A true treasure to be sure.

        Enjoy!
        Blessings,

I'll miss the fireworks that night because I'll be at the airport picking up #1 Son. He's spent the last three weeks in Russia.

I'm hearing plenty of fireworks in the neighborhood all hours of the day and night anyway.

I may have some time to barbeque earlier in the day...

This will be the first time in a while that I have not flown back to the Bay Area on July 4th. In years past, I've been able to enjoy concurrent fireworks displays all the way from Lake Tahoe to Palo Alto from the unique vantage point of being high enough to stay clear of the star bursts but low enough to see them quite clearly.

Friday we'll be at a July 4th barbecue. Saturday we go to a wedding. On Sunday, the Dynamo leaves me with the cats for six weeks while she tackles several more sections of the Pacific Crest Trail.

Sounds like a vacation that a lucky caller can win. Don't forget to take some oars. We're not looking forward to the fireworks. It drives our German Shepherds absolutely crazy. They keep looking for a bunker.

LOML is throwing a birthday party for me on Saturday the 5th, as I turn 65 that day. Have a lot of friends and family coming over. Should be a great time.

I'd like to tell the boss to take this job and shove it, but since I'm self employed, I'd have to tell myself. Still plan on doing some Real Estate sales and have the usual fixing of things on the rental properties, so I expect to stay busy.

Going over to BIL for Bar-B-Que of tri tip and other goodies, will have some wine and conversation with friends. Maybe even a dip in the pool. Will be home by dark to protect the house and dog from the idiots with the safe and sane fireworks and the illegal type also. Californina is a tinder box and in my area with all the vacant houses and dried up yards and shake roofs it could get interesting. Have a great 4th everyone I will

I was on the pen turners site last night and found the my shop is now a studio becuase I installed AC, La Te DA

Ah, there's a handful of enemy combatant jokes to be made here, but in the spirit of this board I'll have to let it pass.
