      Not true. She never "met" the Wicked Witch of the West (the one the house landed on). The first woman she met was Glinda.

        I guess it could be said that she "met" what was left of her... In the physical sense, "meet" can be defined as "come into contact with".

                Yep, Judy's the right answer. And it's also true that "meeting" the witch with the house is stretching things a bit. The quote, BTW, is from a TV listing from several years ago from the Marin(Calif.) Independent Journal.

                    Yep, heard it on a TV show last year on the History Channel. They also told where the comment "friends of Dorthy" came from too.

                    Anyone ever heard about the correlation between "The Wizard of Oz" & the Pink Floyd album "Dark Side of the Moon"?
