    Somewhere in Minnesnowta

I took this picture a bit ago. Sorry for the quality, it was with my new phone.

You should be sitting out on the end of the dock with a pole in you hand or nearby. Beautiful so peaceful.

At the moment I am sitting on the dock with a G&T. My FIL got wireless up here this year. Fish pole will be tomorrow evening.

Looking good, let us know how they're biting (the fish, not the skeeters).

Sure your Southern blood wasn't a bit chilly with 80 and sunshine?

I have three trips in the next month, one to Detroit, one to Vegas and the other to Houston. The latter two offer no meteorological benefits over Minnesota in July. Odd that my manager (in California) can't figure out why I would rather schedule those trips from November through February...

That pretty much looks like EVERYWHERE in Minnesota.

After leaving the state, it slowly began to dawn on me that not everyone in the country lives either on a lake or across the street from one. For those in the South, here is one way to better understand it: Minnesota has 7 lakes larger than 10 acres for every Waffle House in the entire Country!

Picture offers proof that eventually the lakes do thaw in Minnesota at some point of time in the year!!! It's really nice to have the water for a week or so before they start to freeze up again.

Aww, come on Joe! Sure there were a few that still had ice during the last week of May, but you know darn well that the ice was off almost all of the lakes by Memorial Day this year!

I moved a 36' sailboat for a friend from Washburn to Madeline Island Memorial Day Weekend about 12 years ago and there was still a lot of ice in the marina at Madeline. Those of you in the know are saying "yeah but that's Wisconsin". Once you move away - same difference.

My in-laws came up here two weeks late this year because of the ice still on the lakes. The water today was a balmy 72. My blood has definitely thinned - I grew up in NY and today the water was just this side of being comfortable.
