Yard sale tool gloat I wish were my own

I went to my father's yesterday to hang out with him and let the dog run around. After we fired up the grill I went into his garage/shop for something and he told me to get the box out of the truck of his car. In said box was a Delta 18" scroll saw that was not more than two years old that he picked up at a yard sale for $10! I was envious. The table was rusted but not pitted and all it took was 5 minutes with some sandpaper and a quick shot of paste wax and it looked good as new. He has no idea what he is going to use it for but for that price if he even uses it once it was worth it.

Anyone else have any great rummage sale scores?

Nothing quite that good. I picked up my Makita 3x21 belt sander and Dewalt 10" CMS last year for around $60 for the pair.

On Friday I lucked into a Makita angle grinder and a PC 333 ROS for $10 each at a garage sale.

I've tried to limit my 'saling' but it's not working.
You might think I haven't contributed much to the world, but a large number
of the warning labels on tools can be traced back to things I've done...

Its funny that you posted this as I have just got back from a real nice guy (another expat englishman) who is closing his shop and selling of a bunch of stuff.

        For $90 I got.

        Grizzly Oscillating spindle sander
        Tenryu 25540
Bunch of tack cloths and glue brushes
        4 fully locking casters
        ROS stand
Large box of mixed brad and finish nails
Whole box of mixed planes/spokeshaves bits and pieces.

The really cool deal was the box of planes. Many are in parts and should be fun to match all the pieces together but the whole box was $10. I will sort through at take some pictures later.

As I posted in the bargin alerts he does have a bunch more stuff if there is anything that any of you want and its small enough to ship, let me know and I will go look for you.

Here are a couple of pictures of the contents of that $10 box of planes. There seems to be enough parts to get most of them re-assembled.

Wow - great deal on the planes! I don't do much garage saling, but my wife does. I'm going to make sure that she knows to buy anything that looks like that box of planes.
