    The most unperfect timing

    I have been scouring ebay and craigslist for months, bidding on everything, replying to every post about a Bt3000/3100 near me. Finally last night I was first to respond to a BT3100 20 miles from me in good condition. I arrive at work this morning and attached to my paycheck is a pink slip.....No saw for now. Dangit.

      Wow!! Sorry to hear of your bad luck. But keep your head high. Sometimes things work out for the better when those things happen. Hope you find something soon.

              Were you literally "pink slipped?" Or did they give you verbal notification?

              If people are being let go by having a pink slip stuffed in with their check I wanna know what company is doing that as I'm sure as heck not spending my money there.

                  Welcome to the wonderful world of the unemployed. Here in NY State, we can claim our benefits from the comfort of our over mortgaged homes.

                  But it usually works out before you get to the food stamp point.

                  Anyway, buy the bloody saw, you're going to need that selfish bit of extravagance.

                      Viking, really sorry to hear of your misfortune.

                      I hope something comes your way real soon so you don't land in the pits. But like some of the other posters, if you got some spare cash, buy it to help bring your spirits up. But if you got family, umm, well deep thoughts are required. Did that company market something that we the consumers buy? If so, who? I, like cgallery, would not buy their product. Hope you get squared up soon; keep us posted.

                          Man, that really sucks... I'm with the others, go get the saw anyway. It will help to have some diversion as you hit the job-hunting trail.

                          And cheer up, it could be worse... I once had to fire myself.

                              If you are even half way good with woodwork, you could earn the cost of the saw in a couple of projects for neighbors or friends.

                                  Thanks for the support guys. I am a hobbyist at best with woodworking. I used to work for a national nut and bolt supplier, but due to this stinging sense of loyalty, I would not like to name them at this point. Through networking I already have a few leads on the other side of the coin, purchasing product instead of selling it. Because I do not know what the future holds, the $250 I was going to spend on the saw will stay in the bank for now. When God closes one door, he opens another I believe....it is now up to me to find the open door.
