    What's Another Half Million?

I was watching the RM car auction this AM on the tube and on the block was a 1959 Ferrari 250 LWB Spyder like this one that the bidding got to $4 million between two bidders. I guess one of the guys wanted it pretty bad as his next bid was $4.5 million. He clinched it with that.

I don't live in a neighborhood having a neighbor on each side like those guys but it would be cool as they are car collectors. Utopia for me would be if they did, and their passion was also woodworking.

I am always amazed at the amounts those cars get at auction.

one time I was inviting a friend to an exclusive high dollar car show with me.
his answer was: "I don't hang out with the wine and cheese crowd"
my answer was: "don't worry, it's not the wine and cheese crowd, these guys buy and sell the wine and cheese crowd as a hobby."
His eyes got really big but he still didn't end up going.

Car guys are car guys. The difference is whether you build your own piece by piece or can afford the big ticket items. When the conversation turns to cars the differences fade.

Same thing as here. We have members from every walk of life but are all bound by a common hobby/interest.
