    Small electric indoor grill?

LOML and I are looking for a decent indoor grill. Read up about the Foreman grills, apparently the older (fixed plates) are a pain to clean, and the newer ones (removable plates) don't get hot enough.

Any recommendations for an electric grill that does a good job and isn't to hard to clean?

    Thanks much!

We have the Forman G5 (I think) with the removeable plates.Don't have any problem with it.

We have a cuisinart with removable (dishwasher safe) grill plates. It's a little pricier than the Foreman's (we had an old one and could never get it clean enough) but it's held up well, cleans easily, and gets hot enough. There's also some griddle plates that come with it, but it's just as easy for me to throw a griddle on the stovetop.

We had a Foreman GRP99 for a number of years and were happy with it. Last year we purchased one of the new G5's with the mutiple plates. While the felxibilty of the multiple plates is nice overall I think I like the GRP99 better for it's larger heating element.

The Cuisinart grill has been a welcome addition - never fail(s) - easy to clean - a very good purchase.

When Mark and I got married someone gave us an indoor grill that was about the size of a large skillet with a ceramic bottom and a "burner" in it with a grate like a regular grill. We used that thing all the time, almost like a regular BBQ grill. I don't know the name of it as we haven't used it in years, but used to use it all the time. I don't know if that is the kind you are looking for.

I had a fixed plate Foreman. I just always lined it with foil and then never had to clean it. I stopped using it because of taste. It dried the meat out too much for me. I don't like eathing hockey pucks.

I remember a guy in college had a smokeless grill in his apt. It had a heating element that sat above a tray of water. All the drippings off fell into the water and didn't burn.

I agree with the Cuisinart comments above. Had one for years now. Found best price at Costco http://tinyurl.com/3joau2

Thanks everybody, much appreciated! We pulled the trigger on a Cuisinart Griddler.
