    My New Summer Beer

Yuengling Light. Has more taste than the big 3 but still isn't a heavy-drinking beer.

Good thing you don't live west of the Mississippi, cause I don't think it's sold there.

I bought some Kirin Ichiban after having one at the local Kobe Steak House. I had forgotten how good it was. Definitly NOT a light beer. My preference is Henry Weinhard's, but there's not a distributer in Texas. Closest one is just across the border in New Mexico, a full day's drive each way!

My drink of choice on hot days is Blue Moon, in an iced mug, served about a half degree above freezing. When I pour it in the glass and it gets a little slushy. My idea of heaven right there.

From the oldest brewery in North America. Got a grad party to stock up for....time to a trip to "Beer's of the World"! Yuengling is one of the beer's I buy for those who prefer a typical lighter big brand beer because I'll at least drink it if the guests don't finish it off. They have a black and tan I like. I tend to like a good hearty tasting beer that's lighter than a stout but heavier than most even in summer....like a Sam Adams Boston Ale or Negra Modello. THere's a great local Scotch Ale here, but it's only available in growlers and is ~ 8% alc. Too much of a good thing. I like Upper Canada's Dark Ale (looks dark, tastes light) and Leininkugels too if I can get it....that's best on tap b/c they carbonate with nitrogen....finer bubbles.
Happiness is sort of like wetting your pants....everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.

I love blue moon. HOwever, in Kalamazoo they haave a smaller brewery that makes Oberon. The brewery is called Bell's. Oberon is fantastic stuff. A great summer brew.

Yuengling is imported all the way from Pennsylvania.

Don't feel bad; I found Yuengling on the list of imported beers on the menu of a well-known chain restaurant located a couple of miles from my house. I live less than a half hour from the Delaware-Pennsylvania border!

For refreshing summer beer, it's hard to beat an unfiltered wheat beer (like Sam Adams Hefeweizen) with a slice of lemon. Their Summer Ale's a pretty good choice, too.

Sometimes the surroundings has a lot to do with how a beer tastes. Most refeshing beer I've ever had was a pint of watermelon ale (actually, two!) at Boston Beer Works, across the street from Fenway Park. One hot summer day, my boss and I stopped at the brewpub before going to a Red Sox game. I was somewhat skeptical when I ordered it, and my suspicions grew when it came with a wedge of watermelon on the rim of the glass. To this day, however, I have no idea what happened to that first glass. I'm not a fast drinker, but that one went down like water! All I remember is ordering another a couple of minutes later.

I raved about the beer to family and friends, and finally had the opportunity to take someone else to try it. The moment was apparently all wrong, because it was a big disappointment for me, and the other guy thought it was awful.
