    Headed to Australia

I am headed down under for a little R&R. Sorry Rod, but I am not getting as far south as Melbourne. Otherwise I would stop in for a peek at the cleanest shop in the world. Instead headed to Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns. Rod, I remember and laugh at your comments about Steve Irwin back in 2006. He is the reason we are travelling so far. Headed to the Australia Zoo for a couple of days during the trip. I wonder how far I will be from Dave in Cairns? - Kevin

Australia Zoo needs all the help they can get right now, from the sounds of it. Seems Steevo was the main attraction...

I don't think Dave is in Cairns anymore. I'd read somewhere else that he closed up shop and moved.

Sorry you can't make it to Melbourne, but you will get great weather "up there". You should get around 60-80°F - we were up there recently.

Melbourne has been getting a range of about 35-54°F Winter starts June 1.

I have to confess we are about "Bindi-ed" out!

I think we should organize a BT3 group trip down under and have a party in Rod's shop. I am sure we could eat off the work surfaces

What do you think Rod, is your barbie as clean?

Kevin, while you're in Brisbane see if the Breakfast Creek Cafe is still in business. As I remember from a trip many years ago, the steaks were very good.

In Cairns, there's snorkeling if you like that sort of thing.

In Sydney, the Powerhouse Museum is probably worth a visit. It's an old steam electric plant. Also, gotta stop at Bondi Beach.

If you like wine-tasting, the Hunter Valley isn't far from Sydney.

Of course, if you'd asked my opinion before you made your plans, I'd have suggested you skip Sydney and go to Melbourne instead.

I'm horribly jealous. Been there three times and only scratched the surface.

If you're not into it, this would be perfect time to get into it. Better yet, get certified for scuba. You won't regret it.

At LAX now. Jump to Sydney tonight. Looking forward to everthing. Thanks for the recommendations. Have a day trip out on the GBReef from Port Douglas. Will definitely be snorkeling. No scuba though. My daughter is seven and not ready yet. To bad Dave moved otherwise I would look him up. Will give you all an update when and if we return to the states.
