    Part of what comes into play is the cost of selling the items. How much do you really make by diverting employee time into all of the tasks of selling old equipment. Are you going to spend $100 an hour to have somebody sell off $1000 of equipment?

    manufacturing companies certainly don't throw everything out after it is depreciated, I hope that's not the logic that is in these threads. There is a difference of what is in the books for tax purposes and what is in operation.
