    Ploar Bear Swim Anyone?

My FIL reported today that the ice is finally off the lake in MN. Water temps are a balmy 50 degrees. This year they went up to the cabin 3 weeks late because of the cold weather.

The northern half of Minnesota has had a rough Spring. There were several of the popular fishing lakes that still had ice on them for Saturday's opener.

Here's how to catch that bear:

You go down to the frozen lake and cut a large hole in the ice. Then you place peas all around the edge. When the bear goes to take a pea, you kick him in the ice hole.

            Hah. That's funny.

David, there are 10000 lakes in Minnesota. Which one thawed??

I do hope they don't get the crazy flooding along the Mississippi this time.

In the Twin Cities the ice has been off the lakes for a few weeks now, but it was a rough spring.... The ice-out on Lake Hazeltine was the latest by over a week compared to the 9 years I've been at my current company.

Much of the state had more snow in April than during the rest of the winter combined. But, it's helpped put our water levels back near normal for much of the state which the farmers appreciate.
