    Credit Reports

Time to review my credit reports again. I am looking at my annual credit report - I got a good suggestion the other day which was to round-robin them so you can look at 1 from each agency every 4months or so.

Question is, why does it show the same loan multiple times? I see my mortgage on there 3 times. Is this something to worry about or is it just the way it is reported? Account number, bank etc all match so as far as I can tell it is the same loan.

I would question it, I did mine because of an attempted Id theft. My son's previous addresses were listed as mine. On our Joint return we had stuff on there from my late Sister and my Daughter-in-Law all because they have the same first name LOML. Mine have a coupe of other things that are not accurate that I had to clean up.

After reading all the posts on credit fraud/reports, does anyone have personal experience with the "free" credit report sites? I just did a quick search and came up with this one:

      https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp

but now I'm leery of putting my info on there.

Never mind - I just hit the FTC site and they refer you to the above site so I guess it is legitimate.

Annual credit report.com is the one created by the Fair credit reporting act AFIK. I sure hope it is cause I just got one of my reports from there today.

You should post them here so we can get an idea of what you're referring to.

Uh huh. Why don't I just post my SSN while I am at it?

I disputed and got a call from Eqifax. They said it is a glitch with the free credit report system and he is sending me a paper copy of my report that has the loans in question only listed once.

Of course. What good is your credit report without your SSN. There may be a bright side to this identity theft thing. It may be a blond, and make the payments for you.
