    I met ryan.s today

I purchased the Delta Air Cleaner that Ryan had listed in the member's classified section. The air cleaner looks better than new. It made my other tools ashamed.

I am always pleased when I meet a member in person, and find them to be just as nice as they are on line. Ryan made the transaction easy and most pleasant.

You shoulda called, Steve, I'd have driven down with you. I was just messing around, after having given myself the afternoon off.

Oh well, I hit a large bucket of balls and took a nap...

      JR,

I should have called you. Ryan lives a stone's throw from the Rockler and not much further to Arroyo Hardwoods. Unfortunately, I had to cut my visit short as I had an appointment with a criminal.

Perhaps we should make a pilgrimage to the Pasadena area when you next give yourself a day off. We can get Ryan to join us.

In fact, how about a SoCal meeting some time??

Would it be out of place to ask what you meant by that? That statement is just way too out of the ordinary to just let slide without at least asking.......

If I have my depopo lingo correctly, normally a warrant served and suspect taken into custody.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

Although it's worthwhile, not all criminals are in custody.

Steve it was a pleasure meeting you yesterday! It was nice to finally meet a member of the forum and chat for a bit. Thanks again for your generous gift. Hope you don't mind me posting a picture of the depth gauge. Beautiful work.

By the way other than Rockler and Arroyo Hardwoods there is also a HF near by as well, about 2 blocks from Rockler. I stopped going to Arroyo Hardwoods ever since I found Bonof lumber near downtown. It's a bit of a drive considering Arroyo is right here but it's worth it in my opinion.

We should definitely do this. One of the other WW forums made a visit to the Gamble House here in Pasadena. I've never been but I heard it's a nice place to visit to see some great craftsmanship.

                  Jon,

I am a criminal lawyer. I know that sounds redundant. I meant my comment as tongue in cheek. I practice criminal law, but not all of my clients are criminals. After 35 years its not about the good and the bad it's the caught and the un-caught.

Ryan, I have been to Gamble house, and it's very cool. Your mentioning it gives me an idea for the get-together. I've done the regular tour and it is not woodworker friendly - no touching, no loitering, no curiosity as to the details is allowed.

There is a monthly tour called the "Details and Joinery" tour. http://www.gamblehouse.org/tours/details.html It is led by a local crafstman who specializes in Craftsman restorations and is specifically meant for woodworkers. It's kind of pricey at $75 and is held on Wednesdays, plus there is a limit of eight people, so it's not easy to schedule.

Would any So-Cal members be interested going on the tour as a get-tother?

                    JR

BTW - Ryan, I have one of those depth guages, too. Steve does beautiful work.
