      Spectacular photos indeed.

      Volcanic clouds do generate lots of static electricity and lightning flashes are not uncommon in, and around, the ash clouds.

          amazing, indeed!

          i love lightening and thunder, infact, when we have the rains in the monsoon season, i go out in the rain. however, my wife on the other hand, cannot stand it and wants to be indoors at that time, especially when its loud and lightening like crazy.
