With the rope trick ,you can also unscrew valve core center to get more air in faster, after the tire bead is set replace the valve center( alot of air will rush out) work fast

you want a valve cap like the second from the right

If I had more room, I'd buy more tools!

if you have a small air compressor you will not have enough flow to make the bead seat. if you are still having problems after using the rope method (tie downs work also) and lots of soap then you need to find a bigger air compressor, or just take it to a tire shop.

        Inflate tire!!

I was reading these posts and fell out the chair rolling with laughter when I read Black Walnuts post! I did try that one time years ago and scared the devil out of me. It will work, but man is it scary! Needless to say, from that point on, I just use a rope and place it around the tire and tighten it down till it'll hold up against the rim. It is hard typing this while still laughing!!!

Forgive me....but y'all may have forgotten something

Pardon me, but you might want to think about what caused the tire to go flat in the first place.

You just might want to add a little bit of SLIME or FIX A FLAT, after you get it seated, to eliminate having to do this process again...........

            Fix-A-Flat

I'm not a big fan of this stuff - it will REALLY rust a steel wheel if left in the tire. DAMHIK
