    Ax Men

I have been watching this show called "Ax Men" on the history channel. It follows several logging companies and what is involved in getting a tree to the mill. It gives a real sense of the risks in logging. It gives me greater appreciation for the lumber that I use. All wood workers should watch at least one episode. I will never complain again about the "anything but straight" boards that seem to be available where I live.

The new episodes are on Sunday at 10 pm.

I posted about this show a few days ago. It is cool to watch although they don't really use axes anymore. I would like one of those chainsaws. I am gonna have to start carrying mine over my shoulder like that. Tje not straight boards are not the loggers' fault.

I enjoy watching Dwayne fell trees, he makes it look effortless. If you pay attention he actually fells 3-5 at one time like dominos.

I've been watching it also, interesting to see different aspects of it. Last night with the big snow they had, they kept talking about a foot of snow, then they'd show a guy walking in an inch or two.

When I pack a saw around I usually throw it on my shoulder like that, but it's a really bad habit to get into. Pack it like that and slip you could have the chain come into contact with your neck and really not have a good ending to the day.
