Is Google SPAM?

I have a Gmail account which as you all know is a subsidiary of Google. Today, I found an item in the SPAM folder. Imagine my surprise when I took a look at it and saw that it was a Google SketchUp newsletter (another Google subsidiary). I'm not sure that subsidiary is the correct term...... perhaps offshoot would be better.

So all things being equal and given that Google and it's offshoots now believe each other to be SPAM, perhaps it's now time for me to live my dream as a recluse on a remote island somewhere in the Pacific.

You might want to review any agreements you clicked on to get whatever services. Free sites have to get money from somewhere. When I first got Yahoo email, (free), there was spam and junk mail by the gallon. Even with spam filters on, junk and spam mail loaded into the bulk mail and also to the in box.

Perhaps you have marked a previous message from the same sender as spam. That would ostensibly put the Google addy into your blocked senders list, and divert any future mailings to the spam folder. I tried this on Hotmail a while back, and it actually worked for a few months, till Hotmail got wise.

It's rare if I get spam from Hotmail. Yahoo had them beat for the most.

Sigh!!!!...... another fine dream goes up in smoke.

I had considered a Caribbean island at first, but then decided that I would rather perish in the Ring of Fire than by Hurricane. Never once did I consider being hounded to death by SPAM!!

I use a service called Spamgourmet that allows one to generate on the fly disposable e-mail addresses. Each address works for only so many times and then all incoming is dumped, but counted. Thus far WG Puck has produced 64711 e-mails over 3 years. And the recipes I got for signing up were not that great. I am glad that I did not have to delete all that

Fried SPAM is not all that bad when your out camping and your hungry and the fishing stinks...

It's possible that you set the Sketchup mail as spam by accident one day.

The Hotmail accounts I have won't block mail from Microsoft no matter how many times I flag it..(I have to have them for access to some MS site)
