      David,
Yes, My wife and I both have bluetooth headsets and YES we both use them all the time. Driviing, walking, shopping, in the shop, everywhere. We wouldn't be without them!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't go cheap! Get one that is comportable, has enough volume for you to hear well and sounds good to the other person.

I have both the bluetooth headset that hangs on your ear and bluetooth stereo headphones. I use the headset when driving and the headphones when I use the phone as an MP3 player. Like them both and the fact there are no wires.

Started with a Motorola 500. Always felt like it was flopping against my ear (Which it was) and was going to fall off (Which it did). Sound quality was marginal on both sides of the conversation but especially to the other person. In the wind, forget it.

Went with the Plantronics 510, mainly for the noise/wind cancelling reviews. Comfortable to wear and the only person that has any problem with background noise is LOML, mainly because her hearing is bad to start with.

Another advantage for me is that, when driving my truck, the Bluetooth cellphone links to my (Garmin) Sat-Nav. The headset I pictured originally is great for general driving, etc., but my cell can only handle one BT device at a time, which I suspect is normal.

So, if I'm using the Sat-Nav, I don't need the headset to answer or dial a call hands-free, but if I'm not, the headset is really good. No-one I've spoken to on either device knew I wasn't just using the cell conventionally.

As others have advised, make sure that the cell can connect to any other existing BT devices you have to get the most out of it.

            Ray.
