    Removal of dealer stickers

The wife took posession of a new Accord and the first thing I did was to remove the dealer license brackets (no front license req'd at all). But what about that blasted decal on the lovely new pain on the trunk? What the heck? After paying them all of that money why should I be giving them free publicity? So, how do I get it off? WD-40? 3-in-1 oil? Stump water gathered under a full moon?
    Blessings,

You drive right back to them and demand they remove their vandelism from your car, or start paying you (insert enormous sum) every week.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

          Hi

I removed those from my car by gently warming first with a hair dryer - Gently!

          Should work for you too.

My dealer has treated me so well in the 15 years that I've been buying cars from him, that I'm more than happy to carry his advertising. However, I've used most of the aforementioned methods prior to that, and they do work.

Many thanks ot all. I'll probably start with the hair dryer method.

You really should try going back to them and having them remove it first. The last vehicle I bought from a dealer I waited until we were ready to close the deal and added the removal of all their crap as a last stipulation.

A few years ago( ok, quite a few years ago) when the dealers name was a chromed plastic emblem that was actually mounted in the body of the car, my buddy's dad waited for delivery of his new car, then demanded that the dealer remove his name, fill the holes, and have the repair properly painted. He told them that he never agreed to have their name on the car( had the agreement with him).

I've removed about 4 stickers from cars. I've used my heat gun on low and an old credit card to scrape it off. be careful with what you use to scrape with, you have more of a chance of scratching the top coat with the wrong tool as you do with the heat. just warm it a little and test the adhesion, warm a little more, test, etc until it starts to remove. Then I use Goof Off to remove any leftover adhesive. but with a new sticker you shouldn't have that problem. Finally, soap and water.

I'm curious how you'll make out going back to the dealer, since you already took possession you might not get very far. I know some dealers that won't remove the sticker even if the car is still on the lot.

I always just rub a little GOOF OFF or OPPS on itwith a paper towel then let it set for a couple min then just peel it off wipe the residue with a little more, then a little soap and water to finish. After a couple hours dab on a little wax or polish to reprotect the paint.
