Well I'm not sure how things are run in NJ but in Canada DD does not stock. They have hundreds of manufactures catalogs indexed alphabetically and by industry. When we were looking for sofas we literally had several brand name manufacturers with a selection of hundreds, from all cost levels. The same with blinds, appliances and fixtures. Selection is not limited to just a few items. Sure some manufacturers might have a few items they will not make available but generally speaking whatever they produce you can buy.
When you purchase something it is delivered to their warehouse. It is your responsability to inspect what you ordered for defects before you take it home. We had ordered an entertainment unit ( this is before I got into WW ) and the finish was splotchy. They ordered a new one for us and shipped the defective one back no problem.
I'm not saying that you should go for it. Our experiences were positive. ( They were known as UCC Total Home then ) You have to do your homework. For the average household, I doubt it would be a good move to sign up.
The sales tactics can be a little strong and if you do not want to subject yourself to it then don't go. In the end if you know what to expect, don't get angy if they do put pressure on you to sign up. Just leave the credit(s) card at home.
