LOML wants a conference table for her office. That is it on the right, it will be a 4' octagon made of Padauk with a square pedestal. I wish she had picked anything else but I had to show her a piece at the yard. Say goodbye to my sinuses, hello swollen eyes. This might be a good excuse to buy one of those powered respirator hoods I've wished for a few times. Over the next week or so I'll be playing with dyes for the grain filler.
On the left is the ash face lumber for the kitchen cabinets I'm starting. We tried all kinds of finish combinations on some scrap i had around and finally settled on natural wood with wipe on varnish. We both want light cabinets and figured that as the ash ages it will take on some nice characteristics all by itself. I'm open to suggestions as I haven't worked with ash much.
Some assembly is required.
Now I let it set for a week or 2 with the fan on in the garage and left it acclimate before I start in on it. The conference table goes first. I have to remember to cover the ash when I start so it doesn't end up pink.
