Odd Problem With The New TV

Odd problem with the new TV. The problem only seems to happen on CBS and then only when watching NCAA tourney and only when game feed is on. It does not appeear to do this during commercials. A black rectangle shows up in the middle of the screen for a few minutes that takes up the middle 1/3 of the screen. I don't think it is part of the broadcast as it doesn't happen downstairs. No words or anything, just the rectangle.

Very strange indeed. Is this comming over the air or from a sat box? If its from a box you could hook up a different TV to the same outputs and see if the same thing happens. At least this will tell you if its the box or the TV.

My sister-in-law had a similar problem. I think it had to do with the closed caption setting. That's all I remember about it, but try changing that.

My 93 year old aunt, bless her heart, had the same problem and I drove 126 miles round trip and determined it was the closed caption feature that was activated. We enjoyed a nice lunch at a nice restaurant and I enjoyed visiting with her so all was not lost.
