    American Idol getting interesting

I know I am setting myself up to get flamed but here we go. I have been a fan since the start and love the fact that the whole family can set down and watch something together. They are down to the top 10 and I think 7 or 8 of them have a chance to win.I have no idea which one. Usually one or two lead the pack. They had a chance to do music by the Beatles for the last two weeks. They struggled quite a bit. I guess the music is starting to show it's age since most of the contestants were not alive when Lennon was killed. Perhaps it just speaks to how great the Beatles really were.

    MM,

I wont let you stand alone, Idol is a must watch show in our house also. So far the right people have left the running. We think that the guys are much stronger than the gals this year. IOHO the only gal with a real voice is the Irish one which was strange that she was in the bottom 3 this week.

I do hope they guy with the dreads goes soon as he annoys me.

If we get flamed we will get flamed together

The show is a must watch at my house too. It is one of the few shows that both my wife and I watch together. I got hooked in season 2. We always try and predict the bottom three, and the one to leave. This year a local girl, Asia'h Epperson made it through Hollywood, but was the last one out before the final 12.

Every time I watch that show, I just end up wanting to punch that arrogant SOB right in the teeth. If I needed that kind of agitation, I could just talk to my BIL...

Not a huge fan of the show, but my remote magically switches to that channel every time Julianne Hough is on. Corolla is a lucky guy

We're a bit off our Idol obsession this year becuse the wife and I are taking an 8 wk wood carving class; one characature, one relief, one ball inside a box and one feather. The latter one teaches wood burning and painting of feathers for those who want to move on to birds with some carry-over technique similarities to doing fish. Fun stuff but it turns out that the wife is better and more enthused about it.

we watch the show too, but the voting is a joke. It's more popularity than talent most of the time.

The format needs to be changed so that you vote for the person who SHOULD go home. If you have 10 contestants and 10 million voters (1million fans for each), you could end up with a 10 way tie the way it is now (hypothetically). Change the format to voting to Oust someone and the person with the least talent is almost assured of going home. Peson with the least talent cold conceivably get 9 million votes to go home.

I only catch bits & pieces of the show as my wife watches occasionally, so maybe I shouldn't comment. But I don't see how this is a such a great family show.

You've got Simon, who rarely has anything nice to say about anybody.

Then there's Paula, who's usually so drunk/high that it's painful to watch her speak.

I suppose Randy is OK, if you don't mind your kids calling everyone "dog" after watching him.
