Ah... isn't that called Lake Michigan? Or are you referring to 'The UP'? But then, I understand that Michiganders don't consider 'The UP' as being part of Michigan.

Grandville - South of Grand Rapids for you non west michigan Guys and Ladies. There must be a few of us since those tool deals at Sears, Borg and Lowes disappear quickly in my area. I work in Kalamazoo.

Mr. Bill, you're half right. In Michigan, we have two groups. We have Yoopers, that live in the UP, and Trolls, that live below (under) the (Mackinac) bridge. The Yoopers are the ones that don't consider the UP part of Michigan. Check out the Jeff Daniels flick, "Escanaba in da Moonlight", if it's available at your video rental outlet. It will explain the cultural differences far better than I can.

Laughing, I have seen that movie. Being from Northern Minnesota I could relate! My neighbor periodically gets drunk and watches it on DVD. I can hear him laughing and will walk over and watch some of it with him.

Bill, so far west of Michigan that this morning I can watch the fog roll in off of that really big salty pond.

In the UP here... Im from Escanaba actually. I guess you could say im from the western part of michigan...

Well, it's farther west than Big Sable Point.....

I used to go fishing in the UP. Usually up around Yellow Dog River. Great Trout fishing.
