Guess what happened at 1:59 today?

    Today is Pi Day--3/14.

So, at 27 seconds after 1:59, the date and time were 3/14 1:59:27.

Hope you ate a piece of something round, baked in a crust and filled with fruit filling today to celebrate!
    Jeff

Hooray! I was busy watching the Tarheels win, though

To celebrate, you can write your name or a message in digits of pi with this geeky little web application I wrote a while back: (Scroll down about 1/2 way. Monitized site, but the application is free to use.)

Pi Day? I am not too good at math, especially when it comes to circles and round things, although I do remember "pi-r-squared".

But then, Pi deals with circles, pies are circular, ice cream scoops are circular. So there you go -- its a nice big piece of apple pie, with a large scoop of French vanilla ice cream.

      Something to look forward to.

      Regards, Steve.

I didn't realize there was a Pi Day. It is kinda surprising to see how many people are out there that are devoted to Pi. My friends and I had a bet in HS to see who could remember Pi to the most decimals.

I lost. The winner knew it to 84 decimals...

        I can't wait for Mole Day, 23 October at 6:02am. In celebration of Avagadro's Number, 6.02 x 10^23.
Just think of something witty and pretend you saw it here.

          Pi-R-squared?

PI are not square. PI are round.
          Cornbread are square.

Sorry guys. Long day and feeling loopy. I think I heard that in the 6th grade.

Our cornbread is made in a cast iron skillet, so it ain't round or square when sliced.....like a PI.
What is the geometric shape called when a circle is sliced like this? A slice? It ain't a triangle cause one side is arced. Hmmm....er rather Ummmm!

              Pi day at school

I am a teacher at a high school and the math department celebrated Pi day.. All the math teachers wore pi shirts and the students ate pie in math class. At lunch they gave all the students little pies.

It was good to see emphasis placed on math.

Here in California, the penal code section for indecent exposure [comonly known as "wagging"] is 314.1.

When I was a public defender, we thought March 14 would be a good day to streak the courthouse at 1:00. Good sense and bad bodies made us reconsider.
