So, who's picking up the new Stargate movie

Released to DVD yesterday, I'll be stopping on the way home to get it. LOML and I have been Stargate fans since it started. I do have to admit we took a while to warm to the new guy when Richard Dean Anderson left the series.

I never watched the series, but was wondering...

Does it have anything to do with the 1994 movie Stargate w/ Kurt Russell (which I have seen)? Or, just the titles happened to be the same?

The series continues where the movie stopped. They only killed the first of many Egyptian god wannabes in the movie. And the replicators and Asgard are cool.

It's in my Netflix queue. So far, through Netflix, we've watched the entire series of SG-1 and all of Atlantis. Current season, we haven't missed a single ep on air, but may still watch it again.

We're probably going to give Galactica a try next. SWMBO and I both like good sci-fi. She likes some of the horror as well, but watching The Shining at age 8 messed me up for life.

Excellent. During the summer reruns we can start watching the Stargate series then (I'll just get 'em on DVD). I guess I'll watch the movie again to refresh my memory.

Even thought I would only view it once, I tried to buy one the night after it was release at five different stores. All were sold out.

I was able to borrow one yesterday and watch it, it wrapped up the non finished series nicely.

The next movie I may not see, as it seems like an episode repeat.
