That actually happened to my sister once about 30 years ago. My Mom and sister and I were eating at a Red Lobster and she found what looked like one of the wax worms that I liked to use when fishing for crappies.
Being a Minnesotan, she didn't make a scene. She just called the waitress over and whispered "Excuse me, but there is a small worm in my salad..." I still remember her emphasis on the word small, as if it probably wasn't even worth mentioning.
They did pay for the meal, which made me wish I had ordered lobster. But, again because we were Minnesotans, we didn't feel we should order desert at the end of the meal, knowing it would be free. Never mind that we probably would have otherwise.Doug Kerfoot
