I have on my Japanese enabled MBPro and my daughter has on her MacBook.
I upgraded to Leopard about a week after it was released and have not had any problems with it. My daughter did it about a month ago and already enjoys some of the extra features that I couldn't begin to talk about. I don't use time machine, but rather do a straight backup about once every two months.
It seems a little snappier to me. If you get it, use it for a couple of hours then run the system update for the latest updates that may not be on the disk. There were some complaints about the Dock and its actions at first, but the latest update fixed/changed/added options for the end user to customize it to one's personal liking. This feature should be on any new Leopard disks by now - that you purchase.

Experience is what you get when you don't get what you wanted!
Enco 12" RT table saw(with router table currently added to right wing), Central Machinary 6" jointer, Delta 16" (17-900) drill press, Ridgid 14" bandsaw, Jet bench top Mortising machine, Porter Cable 6901 series routers (2) and a wide variety of Ryobi 18v tools.
Put it on my iMac when it first came out, but not on my MacBook yet. Noticed right away that Mail doesn't play the animation in animated gif files. If I receive one in an e-mail I can right click and "Open With" Safari to see the animation. Apple says they are working on a fix. Also see some quirks in the positioning of multiple icons on the desktop, not a real problem.
Time Machine is doing automatic backups to my external FireWire drive, one of the main reasons I got Leopard.
