    Did Some Blastin' Saturday

Well, I picked up a pressure washer last week. My budget had to limit what we bought. So, I picked up a 2600 PSI with a Honda engine from HD. Gotta thank ya-all for all the advice from my questions.

So, Saturday, LOML and I went out back to try it out, like a test run. Good thing she was there. I found out what you guys were saying about pulling the trigger when pull starting...WHEW!!! I'll solve that one with a spring clamp when I'm solo.

So, here's a pic of a quick shot at my fence. Did a great job. Now for the rest of the 200 feet.

Wow. Not bad for 2600 PSI. I have a motored pressure washer, but the engine isn't working so great and we need to get it checked out...

That looks great! What, if anything, did you use other than water?

Do you know about kickback? Ray has a good writeup here... https://www.sawdustzone.org/articles...mare-explained

This was just plain old water from the hose, with the 15deg nozzle,. Haven't tried the soap thingie yet. Got some questions on the hookup, which will be another thread (getting pics ready)...coming soon to a screen near you.

WOW!! I've never used a gas motor propelled unit but it sure looks like it outshines the little electric jobs which, of course, are about half the psi. I did rent an electric which was pretty small but heavy as a late summer groundhog. It did a much better job than my buddy's Karcher. I'm also anxious to see if the soap does more than straight pressure. It may at least be faster but is it worth it when you have to rinse the soap off?! Congrats on a nice unit!
          Blessings,
          Chiz

I was surprised at the efficiency without soap. I also did a small section of a very dark cement patio. It came out like new. With the washer discussion in threads here I was reluctant to settle for only 2600 PSI. The stats also say it's 2.3 GPM. I am wondering why I would ever need more than what I got. Of course I'm a proponent of getting the badest of the bad, this one was within my budget which proved adequate. If I had the money I probably would have bought one with a Z06 Corvette motor, with a gazillion PSI's, but thankfully they didn't have one. Besides, I probably wouldn't be able to hold on to the wand. I can see the results of that setup. My wife would come home and see me at about six feet off the ground, whipping around in the air, the hose all stretched out tight, and me waiting for the tank to run dry.

It's got a separate head for the wand for soap, so I can't see doing the fire drill in shutting down to change heads, and then rinsing off. I guess it would be good for degreasing engines, or stuff like that.

              Hey Cab,

Ever try to hang on to a fully charged 2.5" Fire Hose. Lower psi, but 1000 GPM.

              Now that's a great ride!!

I have never used soap with my washer, just water and a power nozzle. Gets the deck and the sidewalk clean as new.
