    My photography site

Well, as I have mentioned on here before, one of my other hobbies is photography. I've been working on my photography website for a while, and I finished a big update to it this weekend. I finished adding photos from my trip to Vienna February 2007 (although I also went to Paris on that trip, but haven't done those photos yet. I still have some to scan). I also have photos from a trip to China, and some photos of my dogs. There's lots more to add, and I'm going to Germany in a couple weeks, that will be lots more to add. Anyway, anyone who's interested in seeing some of the places that I've been can go to http://jziegler.smugmug.com and take a look. I'm still working on captions and adding more, and there will be a big update next month after I get back from Germany.

Disclaimer: I do have photos for sale on this site. Viewing (and linking to the photos) is free. No registration is required. I'm not trying to sell anything, just to share photos of where I've been.

Nice site and very nice photography!

One question - how did you incorporate the map with the pointers?

The photos are pretty good! I haven't had a chance to go through all of them, but the ones I've seen I like.

What equipment are you using? You mentioned a scanner, so I guess you didn't use DSLRs...? Which scanner? Are you using any special lenses?

Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed your greyhounds. dog are fun to look at in photographs because the move so fast you miss facial expressions and postures in real life.

I am a fellow amateur photographer. someday I'll upload my work also.

Thanks for the link. I could look at good pics for quite a while without getting tired.

Do you know about kickback? Ray has a good writeup here... https://www.sawdustzone.org/articles...mare-explained

            Thanks

That's a feature (one of many cool ones) that the hosting company, SmugMug has available. It's setup using Google Maps, and all I need to do is to enter coordinates of the picture. They have an interface that you can type in the address to find where it is.

No DSLR, although I really want one. Next big purchase, I think.

Anyway, I have a Minolda Dimage Scan Dual III, which is just a film scanner. It scans 35mm negatives and slides only, but at a high resolution.

As for special lenses, nothing really. I have some used Minolta SLR equipment that I get a couple years ago. I didn't take it (or any film cameras at all) to China, and will do the same for Germany this next trip. I have a Fujifilm S6000fd, which is a reasonably high end ultrazoom camera (10x zoom, 6 megapixel) that I use most of the time, and my wife uses a smaller Canon compact. Works out pretty well most of the time (and there is information on all of the non-scanned pictures on what camera was used, the settings, everything like that. Hover the mouse over a picture and then click in the i button).

                Tom and Ed,

                Thanks for the kind words.

Tom, if you get anything uploaded, post a link. The dogs really are tough.

Very nice photo collection. I'm very fond of dogs (we have 2 goldens) , so your shots of the greyhounds was my favorite.
