Things that are depressing for $100, Alex

By The Editorial Board of the NYT:

    A Grammy Award Season Quiz:

    A. The rock group Foreigner is on a concert tour sponsored by this high-profile nonprofit organization.

    Q. What is AARP?

    A. This grandfatherly musician is now lecturing young people about drugs.

    Q. Who is Keith Richards?

    A. This rock star’s quirky offstage passion inspired a recent cover article in this specialty magazine.

    Q. Who is Rod Stewart? And what is Model Railroader?

    A. The Grammy awards last night were so fixated on “music from the elderly and the deceased” that a critic for The Times accused it of this sickening perversion.

    Q. What is necrophilia?

Note to Boomers: It’s not personal. This happens to every generation. Just ask Lawrence Welk.

Speaking of Rod Stewart, he has one of my favorite quotes of all times.

"Instead of getting married again, I'm going to find a woman I don't like and just give her a house"
"A fine beer may be judged with just one sip, but it is better to be thoroughly sure"

(deleted many) I started a string but thought, "What the heck. This stuff just goes with life. We just roll with it". It's easier to smile and keep truckin' than to dwell on the negatives. OK, I'll list **one** thing. I can't run and play with the grandkids as I so dearly want to. Held back by a physical limitation. That's all the more that I'm listing.

      Have a great one, folks!
      Blessings,
      Chiz

I would love to ask old Larry, anyone have a shovel?

On second thought, I think I already know his answer, just a grim dead grin, and a forward nod of his head as he is sat up

I received something of a shock last week on TV. An ad came on "If you were born between the years of 1925 and 1968, this information is for you" I was born in 1968, so I did glance up. Burial insurance! I've crossed over to the point where I'm lumped into the same group as an 83 year old. No offense meant to any of the 83 year old's in the group, but it was something of a shock to this 39 year old.
