    Reflections - Metaphysically Speaking

A buddy of mine that drives OTR (over the road) calls me occasionally to help time pass. The other day he was talking about using his mirrors, and eventually we got into a very interesting discussion.

We batted the idea back and forth about seeing your own image in a mirror. If you can see your image, is it possible that in some form you exist between yourself and the mirror. I know this sounds whacky, but beyond our comprehension of what constitutes matter, or wavelengths, the image may be in a form beyond our knowledge.

    Any thoughts out there?

Thanks for the concern, but I rarely eat lettuce, cause it's rabbit food. It might have been the pickles though. LOML and I are having a test week of which are better...Vlasic or Claussen (kosher dills).

Anyway, got any ideas (other than pickles)? Wait one minute, how about an opinion on the pickles since you forgot to reflect on "Reflections".

I spent some time a while back puzzled over why mirror reverses images side-to-side and not up-and-down. I know it's the axis perpendicular to the surface of the mirror that's reversed, but it sure "feels" like the image is reversed side-to-side.

I have to agree with the salad comment, though.

Here in Beta-verse I would have to say you are right. Hop a lift on Alice -- when you leave Bob turn left -- come see me -- I will explain -- my office is just down the hall.

Mirror related but WAY OT to the subject:

I remember reading a funny in Reader's Digest many years ago about a man who used to bet people that they could not write their name on a piece of paper by looking at the writing through a mirror. This went well for him until one day he spotted 3 young men in their early 20's in a cafe. He went up to them, started a conversation and then bet them that they couldn't do it.

They took the bet and all three did it perfectly. The man was amazed. "HOW come you can all three do that so easily?" he asked.

"We are about to finish dental school" they replied! "Working through mirror viewing is what we do!"

If you get a metaphysical and metaphorical, yeah sure you could be right. I mean what is a reflection but something our mind sees. You can see yourself differently in a reflection every time you look. Think about that.

When I look in the mirror, I'm sure it's not me in the mirror, cause I know I'm a lot better looking than than the guy I see in the mirror.
You may have something there, Cabman!
