      I think they should knock the first day off every month. Then I'd never have to pay my mortgage.

          Uncle--then mortgage would be due on LAST day of month.

          I hate to tell you this, but you can't outsmart them--mortgage companies, credit card companies, banks, IRS. Once you realize this you will be better off in the long run...

          BTW I see cartoonist swam across Mackinac River on Labor Day. If he'd waited til now he could've just walked across....
