Congratulations! We adopted my niece 27 years ago and it was a profound, amazing and wonderful thing for LOML, our two daughters and me.

Nikki is now 29 and owns two successful businesses in San Francisco. She moved there at 18 to go to school (maybe to get away from the 'rents!).

You can expect great joy, a few tough days during puberty (DAMHIKT) and a lifetime of great love.

      Best of luck!

That's really great news! I admire you, and all the others who have adopted children. You and LOYL are heroes in my book.

Guys, thanks for all the kind notes. I'm sharing those with my wife. Much much appreciated.

The adoption attorney is already working on the paperwork and so is the case worker. The waiting period for the parents to change their minds will be up in 4 days now. I think the adoption could happen within a couple of weeks. So this is really going to move fast now.

Bought a new home last week, in the process of painting and getting ready to move. The adoption is going to happen now. And to make it a little more fun, the CEO of my company just resigned and with additional changes being made my boss was fired today. Ain't life interesting ??
