    OK, enough of winter already

My fun meter's been pegged: -5 this morning, down to -15 tonight.

Even when I'm warm--with long johns and an extra sweater--I'm cold. I've forgotten what it's like to be warm--heat and humidity are only a distant memory, an abstraction. (Did I really live in Atlanta once upon a time? Without air conditioning???)

I'm so cold my thoughts freeze before they reach my mouth, therefore I lose track of what I'm saying midsentence. Same thing happens typing. I want to say

I haven't had sensation in my butt for weeks. Not sure it's still there.

It's so bad I've been rubbing bacon on the comforter down near my feet to encourage the pets to sleep there. At the risk of a nibble every now and then.

I've been thinking about contacting an escort service, with the provision I'll pay 15% extra if she keeps her clothes ON.

I can truly report: snow does not make it "seem warmer". Only whiter. And reminding one it's been below freezing for well over a month.

Oh well--it can't last forever. Spring is only a month or 2 away. Plenty of time to worry about global warming!
    Jeff

I knew there was a reason that I didn't like you . As I sit here and type this the temp is 1. But while working last night it got to about -3 or -2. And I have a cold and have lost my voice. Not a very fun week. But thanks for the future forecast there Cabman....we will have those temps again in about 3 months.

I guess there are people in the North who enjoy the cold and snow, at least that's what the weather forcasters keep telling us. I can tell you that as I get older, I enjoy it less and less.

I'm old enough now that I absolutely hate it!!!!

We should be over the worst part of the cold now though. Usually third week in January is the coldest in the Twin Cities. Guess I'll have to go make some drawers for the cabinet I've been working on. Have had to put the heater on in the basement workshop.

Did you see the guy at the Packers game on Sunday with the sign that said "Yeah, but it's a 'DRY' cold!"

You know it's been cold for a while when you look at the forecast and say "Oooh, it's supposed to get close to 30 this weekend!" as I did this morning.

The rain let up early this morning, so I guess I'll have to mow my lawn today, after all...
