    Yahoo Mail Spam Filters

Anybody having recent problems with Yahoo Mail? I have a couple e-mail addies there that I have used for years when I am in stealth mode, and the spam filters have worked surprisingly well up till a couple of weeks ago, when dozens of spam messages started coming through daily. I have not changed any settings or preferences, and there are still messages going to the junkpile, but I've gotta get on there daily nowadays and weed stuff outta my filtered inbox. Anybody else having the same problem?

Yep, I have been for a few months now. We have had the same address for years, and until recently the filter has worked great. Now I get about 2-3 spams a day. It's annoying, but nothing I get too much worked up about. I guess I (unfortunately) just accept SPAM as part of life. I was always amazed at how well the filter works.

We have also been seeing increased SPAM leaking through the filters at work, which seems to correspond with the Yahoo! timing.

I've always had spam in the inbox even with the filters. "Bulk" doesn't catch all.

Me too, maybe one a day, but now all of a sudden, it's a dozen. Yahoo's filters just aren't doing the same job any more.

I used Yahoo for a few years, but when spam began to get real bad, I switched to G-Mail. Yahoo spam filter is only good for so many (I think it's 500) spam addresses. After that, you're on your own.

I did not know that... This may explain why this is happening. Maybe I'd be better to clear out those old spam addies from 5 years ago to make headroom for the new ones. Anybody know how I might do this?

Sorry, but if I knew how to do it I would have stayed with Yahoo as my primary account. FWIW, I still use my Yahoo account, but the only people who know my G-Mail address are people I know personally. When I go to G-Mail, I know there are things I'd be interested in reading.

I've had problems with Yahoo! mail from the other side of the fence. I sell stuff online and when someone buys, I send them an email. If that email goes to a Yahoo! account, it often just gets ignored -- it doesn't go into a junk mail folder, and it doesn't get returned or bounced back as undeliverable, It just drops into a void with no notice or explanation. It's actually pretty annoying... at least they could tell me when they're blocking an email!
