    Bad (Banned) Forum Words

The first time I noticed how forums bleep out objectionable words with (####), or (****), It was obvious that the program or software for the forums did this automatically.

I was picturing the sit down meeting the programmers had in deciding which words would be included. Do you think they hired a curse word specialist? It must have been a laugh-a-thon. Reminds me of the George Carlin act of his 7 words you can't say on TV.

Considering that a few of the "banned" words are fairly much mainstream, such as hel*and dam*, I wonder how suck got past the wore police?

But then, I could cuss in Yiddish which I doubt the software is programmed to filter out.

    Always griping about something,

Probably because the first two have a religious connection, while "suck" does not. It's colloquial use is probably not considered vulgar, either.

Sorry, I forgot about the religion connection. I'm Jewish and we don't have h**l, we have marriage, and I think that dam* is included too.

That is not what my mother thinks! After raising all us kids she started a career as a teacher. She's many years retired now but that is one of the words that has always made her start the lecture. I don't have a problem with that word but my standards are much lower than my mothers but that does not mean I'm right.

Goes to show how much I know about the Jewish religion. If you don't have a h**l, what do you have that's the opposite of Heaven(if anything)?

If you believe in opposites, I took him to mean marriage.

Remember, Marriage, is an istitution. I would prefer NOT to be institutionalized and don't have long enough arms for those coats.

Nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that! -Rocky Balboa-

It might be your manner of applying the scientific method, considering your educational background and experience. I suggest continuing with "hands on" experimentation which can only add to your resume, and then re-apply.

Don't feel so bad. Salma Hayek, Morgan Fairchild, and Heather Locklear (sorry UC), don't return my calls either.

Ok, so I'm driving my 15-year-old son (many years ago) on a date. His friend is a very pretty blonde girl, just the sweetest thing. He tells a story about some egregious teacher experience at school. She says, "Oh, that sucks hard!"

I was compelled to keep the mandatory neutral chaperone demeanor, but I was dyin' inside!
