What was the last tool you paid full price for?

Well my BT3100 and um... I think all the rest of my tools (with the exception of some small hand tools) have been purchased on sale. Guess that says something about my feelings toward the BT.

The last full retail price tool?

Two Lie-Neilson planes that rarely go on sale.

Yeah, I can't remember last time that I paid full price for a tool, to be honest. It may well have been my 3100. Lately...

        PM2000 1500$
        18" Jet BS 800$
        Delta 16" DP 250$
        Jet 8" jointer 620$
        Dewalt 13" planer 400$
        Dewalt 20" scroll saw 400$
        16/32 performax 620$

None of these are knock-out bargains, but all of them are significantly below retail.

I have paid full price on many of my tools. If they were not on sale when I really needed it and I had the money, I bought it! I don't usually buy tools for the sale or bargain itself because it is a waste for me, since I don't buy and sell or trade. I do understand that is part of some people's plans. But for me, I buy them because I need them.

Even the overpriced Fein MultiMaster was a tool that I needed and it has pulled me out of some tight situations that would have been pricier without it.

Woodworking just happens to be a hobby that I enjoy but is also a necessity for me to do upkeep on an older house as well as providing quality custom needed work that would otherwise be out of my reach financially.

So for me, "Full Price" is not the final determining point, but actual need versus funds available. If it is "On Sale" or I have a coupon, then that is the icing on the cake.
