    Going back to the 1950s

If you like youtube.com, here's a clip showing the early years with Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry. It seems like yesterday. I finished high school in 1955. http://youtube.com/watch?v=eQBFP2EqGzY

Thanks for that one Ed. I graduated in "55" as well and it brought back some memories.

I was only 7 in 1955, but mom loved that style of music so I grew up with both. Great memories! And still love the sound!

I graudated in 1965 and I'm old.. Hmmm... Ed and Whaler graduated in 1955. Now what could that mean if I'm old.

Loved Bo Diddely.. Chuck Berry.. Little Richard and I was quite into both Rhythm & Blues and the Memphis Blues singers. R & B with James Brown.. Jackie Wilson.. the "iceman" Jerry Butler.. Jimmy Reed.. Aretha Franklin and the like. But the Memphis Blues "boys" were my real love. Howlin' Wolf.. Muddy Waters.. Lightning Slim Pickens.. Buddy Moss.. ....

And I will stop as probably the majority has no clue who any of those guys are. ha ha... ha..ha..ha..

I will say that I am "younger" than you but I know some of those names that you threw out there. And I still listen to them also.

Hey Whaler, don't let that bother you. You know how these kids are.

The nice thing about my age is that I am going into my second childhood and starting to have fun.
A couple more benefits that come with age is that you can flirt with the pretty girls without getting slapped and the 10% discount at Burger King is great.

                    Thanks Skipwill...

I enjoyed running through the years, especially from 1966 to 1973 when I got married (the first time anyway... ). It was all down-hill from there, high-lighted by DISCO (makes me want to re-gurgitate).. to Heavy Metal (I made sure to re-new my concealed weapons permit).. to well... HIP HOP and RAP (I went to the work-shop and refused to come out since).

I graduated in 68, and after picking up limbs from our December ice storm all weekend, I feel a lot older!

Thanks for the Juke box link!

Boy were the songs lousy when I graduated HS ('79):

                        1. My Sharona, The Knack

                        2. Bad Girls, Donna Summer

                        3. Le Freak, Chic

                        4. Da Ya Think I'm Sexy, Rod Stewart

                        5. Reunited, Peaches and Herb

                        6. I Will Survive, Gloria Gaynor

                        7. Hot Stuff, Donna Summer

                        8. Y.M.C.A., Village People

                        9. Ring My Bell, Anita Ward

                        10. Sad Eyes, Robert John

I'd prefer Chuck Berry and Bo Diddly (saw him about 1982--still smokin'...)
