Who needs new late night TV

When you can sample the great old stuff on YouTube:

Carson gets "upstaged" by Tommy Smothers:

    Getting flustered by Dyan Cannon:

(It helps if you know they had a fling when he was between wives...)

    Confronting a quirky mynah bird:

Carson was a genius, and part of the fun was that he set up situations that would produce
unpredictable responses. His responses were what made them so darn funny.

Then there were his classics with Ed Ames, Dolly Parton, Sammy Davis Jr., et.al. Even the mythical stuff that never happened, like Zsa Zsa Gabor and Winnie Palmer, has become legendary. Carson leaves all the rest of 'em in his dust. We will never again see his equal.
