Cheap news by local news station

It amused me that they were saying if you don't have to get out, don't, it is the coldest night of the year.

No (word) sherlock, it is the FIRST night of the year.

Getting away with news sensationalism, it is 12 degrees, though it feels like -4 (not the coldest we get) and it is January folks.

Maybe I amuse to easily. LOL
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

I believe the quot should be:"No (word)(word) sherlock!" I am often amused by news anchors ignorance and stupidity.

Don't blame the newscasters... They only read the copy, and are trained to just read it, not think about it. The real blame goes to the copy writers and the researchers. They are the ones with the bad grammar and the screwed up facts. And how about the newspapers? I'd like to have a dollar for every typo I see in articles and advertisements. It's pathetic.

I think the British have the right idea. They call their talking heads "newsreaders." Succinct, accurate and descriptive, all in one word.

This sort of stuff really gets my goat. The way the general public just listens without thinking about what is being said. Have you ever worked out some of the statistics that they throw out there? X number of deaths each year due to "mnop". Does anyone do the math in reverse? I used to have my daughters calculate the daily stat on some wild yearly total and it really opened their eyes. At least they are now adults who 'listen' to what they hear. (stepping down from soapbox - apologies to all)

I'm still wondering why they are called "newscasters". It seems to me that 98% of what they are "broadcasting" about is actually history since it has already happened.
