Been there..Done that. 98 year old house in Hopkins. Did it myself. Enough money for the materials but not for a contractor. Besides it's a good reason to but tools and equipment. Still trying to find a reason for a small Kubuta track thingy with a back hoe and blade. LOML just rolls her eyes every time we go past an equipment dealer that has them on the lot.

I have to agree. Mike has a large crew who have their specialties as well as conections to all kinds of profesionals for for anything they can't do. But Mike only works in the Greater Toronto area so I think he will come to my place first

I might go with Steve Maxwell. I have seen the work he has done on his own century home.

This would be a happy choice to have to make, as you couldn't go wrong with either. I used to live in the Boston area and saw some of Silva Bros.' work -- first class, as you would expect. Norm is a fellow UMass alum, but it seems he's strictly doing the TV work now.

Thanks to this thread, I've now found the show "Holmes on Homes" and just watched my first episode. Pretty good stuff.

Holmes, absolutely. I'm sitting on 3 floors atm...and my butt isn't that big...would love to see what Holmes would have done with this place when the previous owner was having it remodeled. That man is a hero.

Of course, the emotional appeal of Holmes' show is pretty strong...much more so than Norms.

i'd go with the person who would put the renovation on their show, so that i dont have to pay for it . otherwise, i'd do it myself.

I was just thinking. Mike Holmes fixes other contractor's Screw ups. I think it would be fun and educational to see how Norm and Tommy fix theirs and I am sure there are some in the projects they take on. I am sure Mike has to fix his own screw up also.

                        Ginger, or Mary Ann?

Mary Ann, and it isn't even close. If Mary Ann isn't available I'll take Ginger.

Mrs Howell....think about it....sugar momma....take the estate/insurance money once she moves to the great beyond and run off with Mary Ann at that point.

                            Or Ginger...

                            Or both...

My wife bought some wine called "mommy's time out"....time for another glass.
