HERE is the 21" variable speed belt sander

    FOUND ONE!!!

Or, to be exact, found six.

It's a sociological quirk that when you want to find out just-discontinued Ryobi tools, it's a good idea 'round here to look in stores where there are fewer yuppies like, for example, Pico Rivera near NE Central Los Angeles.

Not that you're all yuppies, but that's just how it works out. When the five-piece 18-volt battery kit with chop saw, saber saw, light, drill and speed saw in a huge plastic case (my first Ryobi woodworking tools) was unavailable at the Signal Hill HD in the middle of Long Beach, CA, they had 21 of them in the store near the junction of the Harbor and San Diego Fwys. For $200 per! ($400 when it first sold)

Funny, I think. And profitable, in this case. The BE321VS is on sale for only $79, ($99 when I bought it) where the lighter and, I think, inferior 18" model costs $49 last I looked.

Congratulations. I left you a message in the other post before finding this, however.

Locally, for me, it is JUST the opposite. My local HD (the one I know people at), tends to run out of whatever tool I am looking for (the last one was the Ridgid flip stands). I had to drive to one, in a higher dollar, yuppie area, to find the tools, I needed (small tools section, displays are cardboard cutouts, HUGH kitchen/remodeling section).
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

      Linux,

Welp. My endless crowing has got me where I likely deserved: The HD guy was blowing smoke, they don't have one, California doesn't have one, Nevada doesn't have one and I've given up.

In the end, as I wondered elsewhere, could it be that Big R is planning a glitzy new Li-Ion sander? Can you run a sander on batteries, even ones that last "four times as long as One+?"
