Oh Where is the Ryobi 21" Belt Sander?

Merry Christmas to all who are merry on Christmas, and happy holidays to all else.

I had a large, 21-in. Variable Speed Sander No. BE321VS, and where mine is now is also a mystery, because some schmedrick stole it from my garage.

So looked for it on Ryobi this weekend, and they don't even list it any more. Only the smaller 18" one.

It isn't online @ HD any more, and I'm going to have to dig around I think calling individual stores to see if there's still one out there. It's a powerful, variable-speed machine. Rats!

Why would they go to the lesser one? Unless they plan to issue a 21" variable-speed green one, which I wonder. Since you sometimes sand for hours at a time, depending on the size of the project and the magnitude of the mistake you've made, sanders don't strike me as a tool you could use batteries with.

    Thanks.

I copied from variable on through the model number and googled it. I believe the second link was to it on Home Depot's web page (where I added it to my cart to see if it showed out of stock).

(censored for your protection and so I don't get banished)ing thieves suck. I had over $1000 worth of tools stolen from me when I had breathing troubles this year, my snow shovel was outside the other day (draining) and was stolen, and now I am sometimes sleeping at work (they cut almost all the copper lines to all the a/c units on the building, which was done first, then stole the units in two other nearby locations).
I just spent around $300 to replace half of those tools, but will have to buy the missing ones at FULL retail (over $400), OUCH.

Hope they get something important caught in the sander!
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

      WAS it out of stock?

If there is justice, they will. Or get copper poisoning from the lines.

Hm. When I check from here, which I did again after reading your post, it shows out of stock on the web. At HD.

When I went back, today, after checking here, it now shows out of stock.
However, I do see a Refurbished model on both Cummins tools site, and on Amazon.com.

Since they are switching to the Lithium Ion tools, and it is end of the year, it could be a model/features switch (out of stock while changing).
Visiting Canada anytime soon? They show it at HD up their.

I ran into this replacing one of the two stolen wrench sets. Most places showed out of stock, except Sears, that wanted close to $400 for it. I lucked out for a lot less on Ebay (still more then I gave originally for it). You might just check there as well.
I probably should have just completed the order, and had it shipped to you when it put it in my cart (my usual luck).

              Linux,

Very thoughtful, thanks for the notion, even if it didn't come to a sander for good ol' Don.

I spent a lot of time today trying to locate one. No good. The only option is one of the sources on eBay. Cummins is one. They are reliable? The one pictured looks like a slightly older model, as it has a black release lever instead of the yellow one certified by two other sources, and for a bit less.

Now, however, I'm beginning to think that the Big R actually has a green (Li-Ion) sander in their craw, ready to come out by 6/08. Else, why would they discontinue the top of their line?

To wait or not to wait? (Worry, worry)

              Thanks again.

              Don.
