    Can't keep my cookies.....

    on the PC.

I have a new desktop and right after I set it up, I reformated/reloaded XP on my laptop. All of this in the past week or so.

I noticed that the various forums did not keep the password as they did before. Today, I was unable to do some online shopping. I wanted to order 2 items; put the 1st in the shopping card and after I selected the 2nd item, the first was gone. Had to call their 800 number to put my order in.

I have reloaded the operating system before but have never had this problem before. I have checked the Internet Options under Tools, but haven't found the magic fix. I have changed the Privacy settings but that didn't help

    Anyone have an idea?

    TIA

What browser (and version) are you using? I'll assume you are using IE6 or IE7.

If you look on the status bar on the bottom of the browser you may see an icon like this. This indicates that something has been blocked to protect your privacy.

If you double click it it will pop up a privacy report that looks like this

As you can see there are many choices, and some are easily identified as ads. I usually only need to enable the "root" site to get it to work. For example, The site i used in this example was http://www.tigerdiret.com therefore if select that and right click I get choices like this:

Select the Alway accept from this site. Sometimes you may have to reload the page for it to work properly. Hope this helps

      Hoakie, Many thanks

That worked for Bt3 forum but I don't know why I am having the problem now. I am running Windowx XP and IE7 and this is the first time I have had a problem like this.

      Anyhow, it has helped.

      Merry Christmas toAll
