Careful; without citing source if this list turns out to be not correct you may be opening yourself up to litigation. IMHO

I really don't care for baseball and have often thought about how baseball seemed to be ignoring the obvious issue (until now). The more I have heard about this report though, it really makes you think about how performance enhancing drugs are so prevalent in all sports, at almost every level.

Frank Thomas once played for my beloved White Sox. Congratulations to him for not appearing on the list. I've always had a lot of respect for Frank's abilities, especially with the bat. It's too bad Jason Giambi narrowly beat him for MVP.

Do you know about kickback? Ray has a good writeup here... https://www.sawdustzone.org/articles...mare-explained

Breck, thanks for the link. I am less broken up about it than I would be, for say, football. I don't follow baseball that much. Although I am not naive enough to think football is completely clean I'd like to think it is one of the cleaner sports due to the much more stringent drug testing.

I think there will be more names come out down the road. This is just one list compiled by one investigator of the documented involvement he has found. I'm sure this scandal goes much deeper, because bad things are easy to justify in order to keep up your accustomed lifestyle when faced by the ravages of age and injury, and younger, stronger, faster players start grabbin' your thunder. I'm sure that many others have simply gotten theirs from other sources or covered their tracks better.

I'm trying to figure out why it took 20 month to do the report, when it sounds like they got virtually all their info from 2 guys??

Probably because that's how long it took for everybody involved in the investigation to position themselves in the most bulletproof posture, and to maximize their own opportunities to benefit from the infamy. Lawyers and doctors of spin are both fast and slow...

Another name not on the list is Cal Ripken, Jr. IMO one of the guys that should be a role model for kids!

A bit OT But,This story reminded me of a funny mental picture I still have in my mind.

Some years ago I represented a body builder in a steroid smuggling case in San Diego. My client was only 5' 10", but he was huge. The hearing was in the Federal Courthouse and there were between 12 and 20 other co-defendants. As pleas were taken, the judge had the clients and their lawyers stand in a big semi-circle before the bar. Now I'm 6' 2" and 225, I've never thought of myself as small, until that day. All these hulking guys wore suits, some amazing feats of tailoring. I would have given anything for a picture of the guys in their suits interspaced with their puny lawyers.
