Into The Video Abyss . . . Video Card Recommendations

OK, so I got a new HD camcorder and was giving it a fling in Pinnicle Studio 11 and Sony Vegas 8.0. Amazingly Pinnacle will not recognize the camcorder at all. Pretends like it is not connected. Windows Media Maker pretends it is not there either. Sony Vegas 8.0 recognizes it and captured video, but is still acting way flaky. Studio 11 poo-pooed on my video card during opening warning me that there would be problems but it would try to deal with my pathetic video card. When I updated ATI drivers the card is now pretty much freaking out. Red lines showing up all over screen.

So I am pretty much resigned to the fact that I need a new video card. I will be doing some pretty heavy duty stuff with HDV material, so I figure 512mb ATI would rock it pretty hard. Scary, huh? 521mb ON A VIDEO CARD! Man I am getting old.

Should have clarified. I am looking for dual DVI at a minimum.
