The store in Raleigh closed earlier this year. I am looking for an LCD TV so I will definitely watch this one.David

There were many stores that shut down earlier this year. The discounts weren't all that great at the one I used to frequent. Even up to the last few days.
Maybe the deals will be better for y'all. I'm not driving 60 miles to the nearest one left for me.ErikComment

Surprising? Not to me. I always thought that their stores sucked. I think that I only bought there once or twice, and then only if I needed something right away. Online stores usually have better prices and selection, Best Buy, Staples, and the like have better sales. CompUSA just never built a good market for themselves.

You might be right on some counts, but still, I am sorry to see them close. I felt BestBuy was kept in check because of them. I usually find BB over-priced in all counts, even during sales, and with CompUSA gone, BB and CircuitCity will be the only purely electronic shops left in this area (and as national brands). I found CU easy to navigate, and generally found cheaper variety of the smaller accessories that nobody wants to pay top-dollar for, and the internet is too darned far away - the ipod-cover, the replacement power-adapter, a small usb cable to connect your camera, etc, sometimes better than the RadioShack. Yes, definitely better service than CC - you could definitely find a couple of knowledgable people in any given storeSurprising? Not to me. I always thought that their stores sucked. At the same time, there was the feeling they were headed south - lackluster displays, lethargic staff... When Carlos Slims said there was a management failure, I think it started right at the top - if the top brass does not care, the foot-soldiers are busy printing their resumes, and it shows.
Pity the employees - what a way to begin their holiday season, and the new year

I'm not surprised. Actually, all of their stores in the entire state of Minnesota closed up at the same time a while ago. As far as deals go, they had sold all of the inventory to a liquidator- so the prices weren't that great. They weren't flexibile at the stores I went to. Hope you all have better luck.Comment

The Washington Stores closed up last spring and the deals were lackluster. I know becaused I cruised 3 stores twice a week for over a month. Most of the clearance prices weren't any better than Newegg.Scott
