    Need Cheap Digital Camera

Looking for cheap digital camera for kids. Want unit that uses AA batteries and SD memory card (keep everyone on the same standard).

"Last years model" would be perfect, ie 2-3 MP unit.

I am thinking I should be able to buy something like this for around $50.

    Anyone know a good source?

    I'd go with craigslist.

You should be able to snipe a Canon point & shoot digital camera for this price on ebay. Look for items that ends mid morning and snipe it. Able to get a brand new Canon SD850 for $46.00 a year ago.

My latest snipe deal was a Makita LXT BTD140 impact driver (tool only) for $41.00

Here is a Polaroid camera that should work for you. It is refurbished but only $39.99.

The AC Hilton gave my wife and I two of these and they are awful even for kids. It's almost not a real camera.

          thanks for the suggestion though.

LOL! That is exactly what my wife has loaded in her cart right now, but she is fussing because the free shipping goes away when you add the free case and 1gb card combo. Oh, that and her 2% ebates that she is always wasting time over!

Looks like Cheeky beat me to it. I was about to post the same thing. Good thing I refreshed the page before posting the stuff on my notepad.

My daughter has a Kodak c530(5mp). She has used it for over a year. She is 8. I think it would be a good choice.

I typically go to Tigerdirect.com for this kind of stuff. Electronic on-line retailers have a fairly wide range of reliability ratings but Tiger gets pretty good ratings and has been OK for me. I know they have several offerings below $100 but did not look at them closely (I want a better one with a 10X or bigger lens at the moment).

I have an HP Photosmart E327 that's pretty simple to use and it's probably about 2 years old. It's a 5.0 megapixel but simple to use and the price is right if you're interested. I have the manual somewhere but I'm sure it can be downloaded online.

I have a Samsung DigiMax 202 that is just awful. Takes two AA batteries which will last for about 20 pictures if taken the same day. It will drain the battery in standby after about a month. Tried NMH batteries and I get about 5 pictures on a charge. Probably related to power consumption but it loses the date/time and resets the picture count after a week of standby. It was 'free' with a fridge we bought so I shouldn't complain but it's caused me to lose pictures and I'm sorry I own it. On the other hand it's a good disposable camera that it wouldn't bother me to lose. No one has bothered to steal it yet though.

I bought a CANON A10 a few years ago for $110.00. Then upgraded to a CANON A560 that died with a E18 source problem. Bought a CANON A10 for the wife on e-bay for $35.00 and has worked great for what we do. Only 1.3 meg but a basic camera. Old camera but still sold as new.

                              Just my thoughts.
