    AT&T Blackout

We have been without internet since 6:00 PM on Monday. Tonight my wife (the genius) got a connection somehow by typing in the address box a Bellsouth Fast Access number they gave us the last time it went down. We also had to put in a user ID and a password.

When it went down, the 24/7 tech number dialed would have an immediate message that they had technical difficulties, call later, goodbye. That right there sent my wife up the wall. So, now we have a connection, don't know for how long, and was wondering if anyone else experienced losing their AT&T connection.

Yep, lost it last night for a few hours here in Orlando. Came back about midnight. Seems to be OK now.

Same thing here... 5 hours out, tech support phones unanswered. And not a word about it on the DSL home site today. I bet the bill will be 100% here on time, though...

My parents are on Bellsouth DSL and they were out also.

They should adjust the bill, not that it will make much of a difference.

Hey, at least you aren't paying Comcast $100 month!

We got through to tech when it went down. Spoke to a guy in India named Joe. Anyway, he said it will be out about 4 hrs. In actuality it was about 24 hours. HEY JOE...BAD GUESSWORK. Then to top it all off, getting the goodbye message...try later. Hey, I was on forum withdrawal.

Back when I lived down South and was with Bellsouth, they offered dial up as a back up for free with DSL account.

While that sounds pointless, let me tell you there was one night that I was at a final table of an online poker tournament that I would have killed for dial up back up when cable line was down due to a car smashing a pole.

I wonder if they just switched a ton of connections to go through the governments secret equipment. Not like AT&T would do anything like that.
